Here Comes The Sun

What's up. I'm Apollo, God of the Sun, Medicine, Prophecy, and the Arts. I spend a lot of time multitasking so if I don't get back to you that is probably why. I might be raising the sun or setting the sun of inventing a new form of poetry or you know, coaching my Oracle.

Some Deeper Healing. | Apollo & Katie

gardnergrows:

“Yeah sort of like how you don’t take advantage of Rachel,” Katie said. If she’d been completely herself, she might have known she sounded completely mad.  Apollo wasn’t the sort to take advantage of people who didn’t want to be taken advantage of. She felt as if he was waiting for the right moment to end it all though. It was twisted that he’d fix her only to have his people break her apart again. The injuries and suffering were his fault. “You did this. I wouldn’t be in this bed if it wasn’t for you. Connor wouldn’t be in his either. Youdid this.”

There was fear and anger written all over her face. Despite the aching of her fist from where she’d hit him, she wanted to do it again and again and again. She wished there was anything she might be able to use to make her suffer in the ways he’d made them suffer or at least the way she believed he’d caused them to suffer. She needed to get a grip on herself. She needed to come up with a plan. She’d find some way to get her revenge. She just hadn’t thought of it yet. He wouldn’t get away with what he’d done.

Her stomach felt raw and she turned her head to wretch into a bowl when the nerves overwhelmed her. She didn’t know what the fuck she was supposed to do about all of this. She just wanted to scream and yell and fight. She wanted to get out of his bed and grab ever person she gave a damn about and run but who could she even trust anymore?

“Does it make you feel good pretending to be this nice guy when you’re none of those things? You’re not even worthy of the title of God,” she told him when she lifted her head wiping her mouth. Her eyes were level with his and darker than normal with the intensity of what she was saying. She wondered how many people had dared open their mouths to put him in his place before.

Clearly the girl suffered from some sort of temporary madness. Apollo steeled himself against her insults, his face blank and passive while his posture remained confident. He’d had much worse things said to him, of course, much more graphic accusations about what his business with his Oracles is and much crueler things said about whether or not he deserved to be what he was.

Worthy of the title, he pondered… These demigods. These mortals. They haven’t the slightest idea of what it means to be a god. Do they think all gods simply sit about and indulge in the luxury of sloth and materialistic spoils? Apollo was, always had been, always will be one of the gods that had the most work to do. It was rare that he got a chance to enjoy himself… Even now, even this. This was him doing his job.

Still though, the girl managed to hurt him. He was here to help her, to help Connor… And yet in her madness she accused him of being responsible for their injuries.

“You’re mad.” He said simply and he shook his head as he looked at her while he kept his blank mask firmly in place. Around him, his children peered at her curiously. Apollo knew what he was doing, but he had to do it. For her. For Connor. They needed help beyond his capabilities and he knew it’d be difficult to coerce Dionysus into looking at them but what could he do with her in that state?

He’d have to force her back to sleep and pay Dionysus a visit.

Some Deeper Healing. | Apollo & Katie

gardnergrows:

Her dreams are dark, constantly moving with reminders of the things  she’d been lead to believe to be. She sees Apollo often with his handsome, bright face conversing with Rachel. Her completely blind devotion clear on her face he gives the others and she sees to it that Percy follows through. She hears the conversations. Promises of a world where she isn’t held captive by her maidenhood. When the plan succeeds they will join Apollo as gods. They will be able to be together as they wish. It’s a seductive promise to anyone who wouldn’t have to die to have it happen.

Reality always seems to fade back in though. Distorted faces of concerned campers dropping by and then there are hands. There are always hands on her. She can tell when they are his though. Apollo’s burn at her flesh. She would scream out if she could break free of the dream.

When she does there is silence  aside from her hand darting up and making impact with the hard   form of his face. It would be little more than a tickle to him but it’s enough to shatter the bones and slice her knuckles. “Damn you,” she manages out in a croak. The whole process leaves her sputtering and struggling for words. Inciting violence in a God who doesn’t give the slightest fuck about you probably isn’t smart but she’s not thinking straight.

“When I came to this camp everyone talked about you as if you were the most fun God,” she manages out weakly trying to keep herself away from him. “I know what you’re doing though. You won’t get away with it. I’ll tell you father everything.” Of course the fact she didn’t expand on it could make for some interesting misunderstandings. “How dare you take advantage of people who trust you!”

While it did not in fact hurt the god at all it did do quite a job of startling him. It wasn’t the first time someone had hit him when he’d woken them, that was actually quite a bit more common than he’d like to admit… But it was the first time someone had intentionally hit him while he’d been in the process of healing them.

The girl was clearly mad.

To prevent Katie from hurting herself further he stepped away, though he kept his eyes levelled on her. He’d managed to fix the (physical) wound to her head and she was (physically) much healthier than she had been previously… But now she had a very broken hand and well… There was only so much he could do in such a brief time about the overall state of her health on a dietary level. So much time spent unconscious with a bleeder of a wound did not exactly leave one fit as a fiddle.

“… I was not trying to take advantage of you,” He said slowly though he was sure that wasn’t what Katie meant he could understand that being her mistake, “I’m simply trying to heal your wounds. … You and Connor have suffered much worse than those who are sick.” The god kept his voice level, slow, and sturdy as if he spoke to a small, frightened critter. She was frightened, though… And what were demigods to gods if not some kind of small animal? Cute and cuddly when they wanted them and easy to dispose of once they tired of them…

Some Deeper Healing. | Apollo & Katie

It’s not terribly hard for him to head about the Infirmary and heal up campers… When he gets to Connor and Katie, however something gives him pause.

There’s deeper problems there than the kind of healing he can do.

He starts like he’s done with every other camper, cradling her head and letting his powers wash over her to cleanse her wounds and heal those on the surface. With Katie it takes longer because there’s things to fight off… Things trying to crawl in through that untreated wound, things causing her fever that are different from the other campers.

The Noisoi in fact… Isn’t hurting Connor or Katie at all. It’s afraid of them. There’s something deeper in them, something seeded in their minds.

He’s in the process of healing her wounds when she begins to awaken.

mars-solider replied to your post: Not gonna lie.
Oh no not you too…

What do you expect? I’ve been working my ass off.

-sighs- Go lie down then, take a break.

Not yet.

The Mars boy is right, Basil. Take a rest.

Don’t freak out about it, that’s just going to make everything worse. It doesn’t matter that it’s you, it could be anyone and they would have spread it all over the camp.

It’s only going to hurt because the thing is going to fight.

So you can guarantee the others will be fine after you’ve done the…. exorcising on me? Will the Nosoi just leave? Because if you can assure me the others will be fine, then I’ll go willingly. It’ll hurt either way.

They will have to be nursed back to health, but if we let the Nosoi stay they will never get better.

I will have to dispose of it once I get it unattached from you. I could dispose of it while it’s attached to you but I’d rather keep you alive.

Phoebe, daughter of mine.

huntress-phoebecampbell:

hotcarsnsunshine:

Shh, shh. Don’t fret. I wouldn’t do it to you if it would cause any lasting damage… See, the problem is that a Nosoi has attached itself to you and is spreading the sickness through the camp by using you as a host. Nasty business. You’ll be fiiiine.

You’re not really helping me to calm down. Still in a bit of a freakout over the thought of a Nosoi attached to me and I’m infecting everyone. I’m obviously a great host if it’s working through me.

Don’t freak out about it, that’s just going to make everything worse. It doesn’t matter that it’s you, it could be anyone and they would have spread it all over the camp.

It’s only going to hurt because the thing is going to fight.

What is going on?

Very well then.

Don’t hurt her, please…I feel like I wished this on her because I got jealous. And…yeah. I’m going to go make more ginger tea.

Don’t be ridiculous, I’m not going to hurt her purposefully.

Riiight. Dad…

I’m not hurting her and I won’t. … It just kind of a painful process.

hotcarsnsunshine replied to your post: This is not the time for a fight.
Hm what?

I’m sorry you felt put out by me calling you but it’s not need to lecture Percy about it. That’s what.

The boy needs to be put in his place. He’s nothing but another demigod, he’s got no right treating me like I should be answering his beck and call.
